The #1 Mistake I See With Lead Magnets

I'm coming in HOT today with a sassy message about what NOT to do with your lead magnets / freebies.

In case the term is new to you, a lead magnet or freebie is a free thing that you offer in exchange for someone's email address.

It is the start of your relationship with said lead.

It's where they start to know, like and trust you (or not).

Here are some of the things that you WANT to do with your lead magnet:

✨ Deliver on your promise.

✨ Provide ONE quick win.

✨ Give them what they need (nothing more, nothing less.)

✨ Treat them like a human.

Here are some of the things NOT to do with your lead magnet:

❌ Make them jump through a lot of hoops to get the thing you said you'd give them.

❌ Make the thing hard to consume.

❌ Under deliver.

❌ Overcomplicate it.

❌ Forget to follow up with emails.

I could keep going.

But...

The #1 mistake I see with lead magnets is centering your marketing around the process instead of the outcome.

When you want your toilet fixed you don't care what wrench the plumber uses.

The method is not nearly as important as the result.

When I talk about the Asana Mini Training...

I don't lead with the fact that I teach you how to use the "My Tasks" feature in Asana using productivity principles from Getting Things Done.

I say...

"What if you could have all your to-do’s in ONE place with a simple daily system to manage them with ease?"

What will they do, be or have by getting your freebie?

It’s a simple shift that can change how compelling your freebie is to the perfect people for your offer(s).
