The Truth About Planning That No One Talks About
I recently ran an advanced training for accepted applicants to my group coaching program on how to create a consistently profitable online business working less than 25 hours per week.
One of the things that I LOVED breaking down is what a weekly schedule actually looks like for someone running a profitable business while working less.
It's not officially part of the framework I share but it's just so damn important if your dream business involves less work and more life, so I included it.
Because one thing that no one talks about is what “enough” is when it comes to running your business.
What marketing tasks are enough?
What client delivery tasks are enough?
What systems, to-do's, emails, organizational hacks are enough?
Our time each week is finite.
But we have infinite expectations about what we will do with our time each week.
That tension is exhausting.
So, what then is enough?
What is done?
I was listening to a talk by Melanie Ann Layer the other day and she shared something that I instantly fell head over heels in love with:
"Overdoing it overdoes it."
And I'm paraphrasing here but:
Baking a Lasagna at a higher temperature for longer does not make it better or more done.
Done is done.
You choose what to make, you select the ingredients based on your preferences, and you bake the Lasagna.
More is not better.
The optimal execution of a Lasagna is just the right amount of each ingredient, baked for just the right amount of time, at just the right temperature.
Anything more is overdoing it.
So what, then, is the recipe for your dream business?
If you're interested in growing, scaling or streamlining your business with systems - I'd love for you to reach out.
It may very well change the way you think about your business.
